ParticipantOnly skimming so I may have missed this already, but I think the bigger issue is that it was said in the presence of the parents. Smack talk if fine but forgetting and filter for elders is a miss.
+1 Scaredy’s man talk.

Participantcome up with a kit you can sell someone to grow their own on their patio. much like the antfarm idea: buy the hardware and then the ants ( seeds) will be mailed to you. ie. grow your own ‘tomato’ plant and social media market it can be used for other plants too 😉

The fix of existing cars and the legal spanking will bleed VW for many years.
Still think there is a lot of potential for diesel powered cars. VW may survive if they can make the highest hp, low emission, etc. leading the diesel auto industry going forward. But that takes $$.
I think this will take too long, so, “I’m Out”.

ParticipantNSR: Doesn’t Sanders ideas of increasing federal spending to the tune of $18MM over a decade cause you concern?

ParticipantElizabeth Warren nailed this duel income trap. Further, look what is happening now in new housing: Multi-generational units. Full granny flat downstairs off the main entrance. Not just for taking care of elderly, but need their money to keep family afloat. Not just higher lifestyle expectations, but the cost of living ( inflation, higher energy, etc.) less people can do it on a single income.
btw. still don’t agree with Warren’s policy ideas. In case anyone feared I crossed over ;).

Participant[quote=]I’ve used these guys several years ago upon recommendation from my longtime mechanic and they’re reasonable, fast, efficient and do good work … also family owned:

http://www.yelp.com/biz/jims-auto-upholstery-san-diego%5B/quote%5DFunny you mentioned these guys. I used them 20+ years ago on a custom car. Couldn’t remember the name. Good work back then, hopefully still good today.

ParticipantYou might try to suck some of the oil out with a hand pump through the dipstick hole. Also, make a non-tippy plate to clamp to your floor jack and raise it up to support the pan as you loosen the last screws. Lower it down and again pump out as much as you can to lighten the pan. Of course, the xmission will drip ‘forever’ once the pan is off. OEM part is my vote here.

ParticipantI, too, live on an ant hill. After your Raid the inside of the house, try this:
Boric Acid (teaspoon)(Rite Aid) and Karo Syrup (pint). Warm it up to aid in going into solution.
Put in multiple small trays ( cut out bottom of red cup 😉 and place around the yard next to house.
Be patient, it works and you don’t have to worry about your pets.
