ParticipantLooks like we’ve come full circle back to the mental health issue. How many of us have had experiences where someone stated that someone they know, worked with, etc. are next to go postal.
Problem is we don’t have a method of drawing a box around someone saying they are nuts and we have to limit their American rights.
Until that gets worked out, crazy will do what crazy does.

Participant
The point here is putting money in hands of people who will spend it and create most economic activity.
Agreed. Let each of us earn and keep what we earn. Spend what we make. Easy.

ParticipantBrian: Practical argument against is fundamental economics of where the money comes from.
Moral fabric: Recall in your US history when there was a time when in America we did not have such programs. You had to pull your self up by your own bootstraps. Only welfare was the local church and giving friends and neighbors. No government programs.
I should be stunned with the thinking that a computer can simply make the transactions. But I understand you and your ilk. There will always be stratification in societies. Deal with it! Everyone is not nor ever equal in terms of productivity.
That is where the bell curve came from: to ring sense into masses. ( humor)

ParticipantThis is all just fine for fireside chatting. For all the reasons already mentioned and many more it goes against all practical and the moral fabric of America. Social programs like welfare and other transfer payments were originally intended as a safety net not a lifestyle.

ParticipantThis will eliminate protected classes and the political power garnered by politicians and the recipients. Won’t fly.
And why do you tell someone after they have blown there ‘allocation’ and they are starving?
All these social programs sound good on paper but never work in practice.

ParticipantThanks for the tip Brian. I’m going to buy a Prius and drive without worry. Dang profiling.

ParticipantWhy not just list at 4MM and wait. Cash still rolls in while you wait for investor. May happen faster than you think with positive political future. Of course, specific location will give you the right price. But you know that already. I think OB is ripe for major overhaul. Think Balboa Island. As price goes up, hippys go away.

ParticipantBG: A legal life estate is recorded. It is also very clear who holds title in the present and when the grantor passes.
This ‘life estate’ context here is simply a play on words to tug at your emotional side.
NSR hit on a great point about assisted living seeing the total property amount. Bad deal for all except the scammer putting it all together.
Is it not a surprise he hasn’t commented? No, as he is just fishing for the objections he will have to overcome. We’ve been suckered.

Participant
Gotta love the piggs.
Granny’s not even our tenant and we’ve already evicted her in the name of cash flow.
I know you are having fun but this this points out why family needs to help family not enter into a business with a stranger.
Hobie
ParticipantBG: this is a scam. OP is wanting to ride old ladies coat tails into a UTC condo.
You are right, why would and old lady want to move, both added costs, and location is suspect.

ParticipantThis is the good Pigg discussion I like to see !!
I’ll add, I think she will cash flow out and you would be stuck trying to evict her. Seems with only $75k, now add her medical, UTC HOA, and taxes, not enough money. On top of that by the time the s*it hits the fan, you would be on the hook for back HOA and fees as you are an ‘owner/partner’. No actual life tenant agreement here, just a weak stab to shill you.
