I work at my kids’ private school. It’s ridiculous, not because of any set rules, we just know there will be parent complaints if the kids use any of the play equipment in any sort of creative or different way.
This includes swinging the “wrong way” on the swing, spinning around or anything else besides swinging sedately back and forth in the same direction as everyone else. It also includes running.
I read somewhere that kids are so over protected when they’re young that they have no idea how to safely take care of themselves once they’re in college. Some pf my phone 14 year old’s friends have never even crossed a busy street by themselves.
fredo4ParticipantSurprisingly, they are all up for moving and are excited about it. And you’re right. 19 yr old is up in S.F. going to school and living with her aunt and uncle. So no problem there.

A. We’re poor
and
B. all of the other rooms already have laminate. With four kids and two cats, laminate will be just fine for us. Thanks for all of the advice.

fredo4ParticipantI had a problem with alcohol on and off for years.
It was a craving, just like craving a piece of chocolate only a bit more intense. When I started taking a drug (buproprion) for panic attacks, it some how eliminated my craving to drink too. I totally believe that some people (and cultures) are predisposed to drinking. While most people drink to a point and then start getting tired or dizzy when they’ve had too much, the alcoholic will just keep going because it feels good. Different brain chemistry. That’s not to say that I believe that alcoholism is a “disease” and you can’t help relapsing. If someone really wants to stop they will, no matter how bad the craving. To me it’s exactly like giving up sweets when you love them. It’s very difficult to go the rest of our life without eating them, but not impossible.fredo4ParticipantI had a problem with alcohol on and off for years.

If your kid likes the annoying orange I’m sure he likes these too. I have 4 kids so I’m up on all the youtube stuff.
