ParticipantI saw a huge line at Ortho Mattress. Guess that’s where they are planning to put their money.
I haven’t been inside a bank or credit union for over 2 years. Why do people go there ?

ParticipantOne thing that hits you in the face is the emptiness of Home Depot stores (And parking lots too).
Gotta confirm that one. Look at their recent slide in sales. Maybe now you can get some decent service there (doubtful).(former)FormerSanDiegan

ParticipantThe FED will also cut the Federal Funds rate if the effects are apparent in the overall economy. I would consider this very likely to occur. I don;t think it is intended to re-inflate the housing bubble, nor will it cause housing to recover immediately. But it will eventually aid a recovery from the recession into which we are likely headed. Remember, FED funds rate changes take several months to work their way through the economy.

Participant“it’s often said on this board that real estate is traditionally a horrible investment over the long-term.”
I second sdduuuude on this one. I do not believe that RE is a horrible investment over the long-term **
**when purchased under the right conditions.
