ParticipantI get an average of 1.5 pieces of mail each day with refinancing offers. I also get at least two pieces each week from American Express alone for credit card offers, such as the “One” account, “sign and Travel”, etc. I have seen no drop-off in the last few weeks. I also get weekly Capital One credit card offers to both myself and my wife.

ParticipantI don’t think it affects the credit card industry much. Rates may change as the economy changes. However, credit cards have always been unsecured credit. There was no illusion of AAA-rated safety and asset-backing built into the market on these.
