What I fear is that “rich” foreigners end up with more US dollars and/or stronger currencies, and buy up all of our assets, essentially becoming our lords; and we, their serfs. We would also see asset and commodity prices rising, while our wages stagnate — creating a far more hideous financial situation that what deflation would deliver. This isn’t a prediction, as much as it’s an observation of what is currently going on, and has been going on for a couple of years, now.
Dollar destruction would wreck havoc on all working people in the U.S. It is only something to be desired by capitalists (asset owners), not laborers.
This already happened in the mid- to late-1980’s. Our lords at that time were the Japanese.
What pulled us out of that spiral ?

Participant
You can stay for free for at least 90 days from the NOD date, anything after that is pushing it unless you don’t care about any of your possessions in the house.
I last made a payment June of 2008 and only received a NOD less than 2 months ago. I got a ton of mail and calls too but the only thing that is important is the NOD.
I told my renters they need to be out next month and then I’ll see what kind of cash I can get from the lender when I come back to San Diego.
I never thought it would take almost 3 years to get the NOD. Good luck.
Niiice.
Did you charge rent while being delinquent on your loan ?
