If these Piggingtonians are correct, and I believe they are, I should be able to buy something decent in a couple of years.

ok, sdrealtor, I’m over it but I bet you don’t use that term or any other cheesy cliches in your listings. Thanks for all your enlightening posts on all subjects. Your input is hopefully helping me save a lot of money and maybe I can eventually get out of the “starter home” category. I am addicted to the intelligence and insight of this website.eccen in escParticipanteccen in esc

I was up against the same problem when I sold in 8/06. I waited until loan contingency was signed off and was nervous about signing a year lease. My agent suggested I put a contingency on my lease agreement to the effect that lease is invalid if house doesn’t close escrow. You don’t want to have to move all your stuff twice. I waited till about a week before close. Good Luck.eccen in escParticipanteccen in esc

PD you are absolutely correct about the masses. They just haven’t caught on yet or are in denial. They gather bits and pieces from the media that makes it sound like things are fine. They don’t read Piggintons so they are just in the dark. This is just human nature – follow the herd. Realtors know but try to pretend it’s fine. They have to. It’s their livlihood. I guess that’s why they just keep pricing new listings so high. I have been watching Valley Center. I too, am looked at like I’m a loony whenever I voice my opinion on the market. And friends and relatives think I’m nuts for selling my house.

This (lowballer)article seems to try to gloss over a pathetic situation. Oh well, they try. Here is another article on foreclosures:

I think it’s interesting that only 1 in 7 Americans think prices will come down. They don’t read what we read. When I make comments about the market people look at me like I am crazy. They say things like, “no, I heard on the radio that house sale prices were up last month”. That’s the mentality that we are dealing with. Also I am seeing a lot of rentals on Craigslist where I think owners are renting out their houses until the market gets better. If they only knew the horrible truth! As far as realtors, I am sure they are scared and that is why they keep listing houses at ridiculous prices. They want to pretend that the market is fine. Just don’t let me succumb and buy. I hate renting.eccen in escParticipanteccen in esc
Hey Phil, Don’t worry too much about a little typo. I was just looking at a listing that had many typos and misspellings. The agent claimed to have sold $75 million in real estate. I will look you up for my next loan. Thanks for your posting.

Fallbrook is nice for bananas and subtropicals and is reasonably priced with large lots. Keep your eye one the market and buy when it hits bottom.

“i before e” is for english. San Diego is Spanish.
But who knows, maybe the name is really San Deigo for their company.as far as a marketing trick, I would think they were a little ignorant and would not be inclined to to business but maybe I am a little mean and a spelling snob.
