ParticipantI am renting in this type of development, pure crap. The alley is a echo chamber, skateboarders etc. No parking, zero lot lines, people on top of each other. Wait till the neighbor parks his POS in front of your house each day. You might as well move back into a college dorm. I feel sorry for anyone buying in a place like this.

ParticipantThis is like asking if you were to get kicked in the head with a steel-toe boot would it hurt? There are so many horror stories about Americans losing their property (that you can only lease and not own) in Mexico.

ParticipantI went ahead and opened an account today, they should be able to last 13 months, WAMU that is, and with FDIC why worry about it. If FDIC can’t pay then money will be useless anyway. This teaser rate is only good until 9/7.

ParticipantThe fees were only for early withdrawel, the actual interest rate is 5.7%.

ParticipantI refer to him as Chamber-lame, and he is so lame it is now comical. He described his own house today, sounded like a manufactured home in Vista.

ParticipantJust take a Sunday drive with your wife down Valley Parkway and see how long it takes for her to lock her door. Stop and visit one of the city parks and go for a stroll, point out all the +’s and -‘s. Stop by Orange Glen H.S. your kid could be a Patriot. That is Escondido. Or you could drive down Revolution Blvd. in T.J. and see the same thing.

ParticipantFor T-Bills, TIPS, Bonds (I, EE etc) here is the government web site:
https://www.treasurydirect.gov/
It will answer all your questions. Buying T-Bills is very simple, just link your existing bank account with a new Treasury Direct account and follow instructions. You can buy a 7 day T-Bill for the minimum of $1,000.00 to get your feet wet. All past auction results are posted giving you the interest rates, and auctions are held weekly. Do not be intimidated by the word “auction”, it is the govenments was of “selling” you a T-Bill. I rate the site an A+.

ParticipantThe best rate right now is offered by the USE credit union. They are currently running a promotion for a 7 month CD for 7% APY
I think the maximum deposit on this offer is only $2500.00

ParticipantHere is the site for the auction firm:

ParticipantHere is the link to the house:
They are using a firm 5daysale.com
Flipper in desperation is all I can say.

ParticipantI believe if you signed a lease whomever takes control of the house would have to abide to the terms. Isn’t hard to kick renters out in CA? The fb next door had some deadbeats that were in the house 5-6 months without paying before they got evicted. I did see the fb drive away with the evicted tenents two jet skis.
