ParticipantI completely agree with edna_mode. The economists have already been talking about value-added-tax in place of income tax as the way it works in pretty much the entire world. If that happens, there is no tax benefit from Roth anymore. I would caution those who think Roth is definitely better, “tax” diversification is the way to go.

Participant
in ms scaredy’s defense, we have looked at a lot of houses. of course, in my defense, i put her off every year in the bubble with her crying, “you’ll NEVER be ready to buy ahouse”. And me breaking out a pen and paper and trying to explain numbers. In her defense, we’re not getting any younger and our kids are starting to look old. in my defense, we struggled to save this money and it would suck not to get it back. in her defense, it’s only money and we could have fun in that house. in my defense, we’re having fun right here right now in this rental. in her defense….etc etc etc.
she’s a good wife.
That’s the end of seven day inspection period. You bought the house or not? Just curious.

ParticipantFor those recommend travel insurance, have you actually used it before here in US? I am asking because it seems most travel insurance excludes pre-existing conditions or has a very low cap for pre-existing conditions. Wouldn’t that make it pratically useless?
