We are way way worse off then Greece but everyone is willing to keep on playing charades with us so we can go skipping along.
[/quote]How are we worse than Greece? The only issue US has is the entitlements (social security and medicare), which must be reformed. Otherwise, other debt in US are all in US dollar, and the Federal Reserve can just keep printing our debt away.

carlsbadworkerParticipantIncome is not an issue here, liquidity is more important. Unlike corporate bond, mortgage payment won’t rise when you lose your job/income. It depends on how many months you can live without getting a single paycheck anywhere.
