ParticipantThe stimulus watch list is proof how inept some of our local communities are. Escondido and Carlsbad are not even on the list. The other cities in the county are even asking for fractions of what comparable cities in AZ for example are asking.

Phoenix $1,560 millionSan Marcos $13.7 million
Peoria $401.3 millionEncinitas $5.4 million
Scottsdale $372.4 millionIf they are giving away free money then I expect our city councils to fight to be first in line. We should all hope to have old ladies in Iowa pay more taxes so that I can drive by new sidewalks.

He totally caved in to world rhetoric. It is about JOBS stupid. American jobs not German jobs.
The stimulus is wrong anyways. When the money ends all of these pork jobs will go away and we will have to do it again. The trillion $ should go to seeding new job creation that will eventually become profitable. You don’t increase your overhead when income is reducing. Did everyone fail econ?
