Yikes! My best friend from L.A. is here for the weekend. I told her about this site and while I was upstairs working, she checked out this site on my laptop and apparently created an account. Frankly, I think her choice of user name is a bit offensive…but I didnt realize she was logged in when I used aforementioned laptop to post the cat thread. After I hit “send” I was like “huh???”
I’m terribly sorry if I posted a non-housing market thread. Wont do that again.
And, for the record, I’m not saying that we are going to start trapping cats. Just wanted to get other opinions and you all seem like a smart, thoughtful group of individuals.I respect your opinions. It’s what Animal Control is suggesting I do and I’m at my wit’s end. My cat IS neutered, has never sprayed before, and it’s very frustrating. He is very territorial and stressed by the cats who taunt him by leisurely strutting around our backyard. I suppose we’ll just replace the carpet before we leave.
Cheers, B

Bunny MeadowsParticipantAllan:
Thanks. I’m happy to know that I wasn’t being offensive. When I see Fallbrook, I think “authentic and real.” Temecula has many fine points, but it just feels so…synthetic and sanitized.
And, as Jerry Seinfeld says, “not that there’s anything wrong with that.” I think it’s all a matter of personal preference.
Speaking of personal preference, my husband and I will have to find a compromise. I like eclectic, character and an honest community feel. He likes sanitized, the largest garage possible and NEW. Sigh.

January 5, 2008 at 9:46 AM in reply to: $200K price drop on house…what’s going on in Temecula? #129873Bunny MeadowsParticipantWe recently looked at Morgan Hill – a neighborhood called The Meadows.
We were attracted to the larger lots (12000 sf). There was one model that I liked a lot, so I asked the sales agent if that would be sold. She told me if I was prepared to offer $800K they’d be willing to talk. In fact, she told me that they’d sell us the single story sales center itself if we offered $800K. I was really taken aback – the sales office??
The base models (which included choice of flooring and kitchen with granite and SS appliances) were $625K. She told me that the builder had dropped prices by $175 and “would never go any lower than that.”
I didnt believe her. The tax rate is 1.7%
Even at 12000 sf, the houses still felt crowded to me. When I mentioned this, the agent told me I’d probably never be happy in Temecula because “these lots are generous and everythihng else is on lots half this size.” Probably true, but I could still look into the neighbors bedroom from the master bath.
Will be interesting to see how things unfold in the next 6 months or so!
