Start with a basic $40-$60 filter from a good brand: Hoya, B+W. Avoid a slim since you will not be able to use a lens cap while it is on the lens. Some wide angle lenses will need a slim but check if your lens will really needs it. If this is the case you will get black corners. The polarizer filter is the most important and the only one I use. Check out my pictures. I get by with a couple of cheap polarizer filters from Quantray.

bubble_contagionParticipantI visited the Venetian a few days after they started selling. I kept the original price list. $500K for a 2 bedroom! The woman at the sales office said that next year (2004) those places would be going for $575K. What happened is that the prices went way down and the HOA up.

bubble_contagionParticipantYes, this is a good time. I am not in a hurry since I don’t expect the prices to bounce back quickly. I will take my time to find the right place. I wish the UTC mall high rise would be built since all condo stock in UTC is pretty old. I would like to have a modern downtown type condo in the UTC/La Jolla area. Maybe in the fall or early next year I’ll start making offers but first I need to find something I really like.

bubble_contagionParticipantGreat to see this old post of mine resurface after more than 3 years!
I still continue to rent in the UTC area with hopes of buying one day when it makes sense. Since the original post my wife and I have been able save more than $150K for a down payment. We even have paid off the car. All thanks to the great financial advise of this website, The Housing Bubble blog, OCRenter blog, Calculated Risk, etc.
