If you were a highly paid hedge fund manager last year, would you have the chutzpah to tell you wealthy, soon-to-be ex millionaire investors that they just got dealt a total loss?
Maybe once I sold my boat.

blue_skyParticipantblue_sky canceled is such a harsh word. The dividend has been “delayed”.
– bub“I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.”

Trading halted, but down 40% pre open. Mortgage REIT canceled their dividend, which probably means they are toast.

blue_skyParticipantWhile I suppose this works for some, I start reading every page at the bottom, and if it says ‘Advertisment’ there I turn the page… For me these ads are less effective than standard ones.

1. Full Employment
2. Price StabilityThe value of the currency only affects #2 negatively if the currency is falling fast enough to cause import prices to drive inflation. And since China is still quasi pegged to the dollar that’s not happening as much as you would expect.

blue_skyParticipantHorrible, horrible idea for almost everyone. I know a woman who did this with 3 co workers, they were going to flip the property after doing a bunch of renovations. Guess what, all her coworkers turned out to be flakes and couldn’t make it work, so she’s doing all the renovation herself! No idea how the finances were structured, but based on the experience level of those involved, I’m fearing the words ‘jointly and severally liable’ may apply.
Exception: getting downpayment assistance from parents is probably ok.

blue_skyParticipantPainting brick is pretty much a one way trip.
You can’t get paint off brick (quickly) with anything less than sand blasting. It’s super tedious to do it by hand, but you have to, because if you sand blast you will remove the glaze / hard outer portion of the brick, rendering it succeptable to erosion. I guy who lives down the street from my brother pretty much wrecked his 100% brick house doing that.
