Can we all agree being salaried w2 sucks?
I look at my pretax paycheck on my full time gig, and look at it after all deductions and taxes. It’s pathetic.
Hey at least your employer pays you for vacation time, for half your SS/MDCR tax, for some health and life insurance, and maybe even gives you stock options or a 401K match. If you have a good salary and some job security (HA! who has that anymore?) it can be hard to beat actually.
blahblahblahParticipant
I pay IT consultants for their services and always thought their rates are too high for what they do.
Their rates seem high because:
* They pay DOUBLE SS/MDCR tax
* They pay for their own health insurance
* They pay for their own life insurance
* They don’t get 401K matching from you
* They don’t get any bonuses
* They don’t get a yearly raise
* They don’t get paid vacation
* You can get rid of them at anytime, and they may be unemployed for a period of time with no income
* They have a lot more paperwork and taxes to deal with at the end of the year. With consultants you are paying for the convenience factor. My experience is that most of them do not make any more money than your typical 9-to-5 employee at the end of the day and many make less.

blahblahblahParticipantRP is not going to win, but that’s not the story. The story is that his base is full of young, educated, successful, and motivated people who are excited about the message of freedom. They are tired of pointless and never-ending wars of conquest abroad and racially unjust drug wars at home, all paid for by an endless mountain of debt that can never be paid off. They are tired of their tax money being used to ship huge quantities of arms to dangerous criminals in Mexico.
RP’s base is growing very fast, particularly among those under 40. Some of these people will be going into politics. There is one RP today but in ten years there are going to be hundreds of them. Meanwhile the mainstream Republican and Democratic parties have ZERO momentum coming in from the younger generations. Supposed frontrunner Newt Gingrich can’t even get people to show up to his events. Why should young people support these people that have left them utterly screwed? They are not buying the phony left-right BS anymore. IT’S NOT WORKING.
Everyone here likes to make fun of MM33 (even I kid him from time to time) but his enthusiasm is real and very typical of RP’s supporters. Most of us are too “experienced” and “wise” for this sort of thing; we belong to the crusty old generation that will soon fade away from heart disease and cancer. We will sit in our homes by ourselves and giggle at Jon Stewart and Bill Maher on the TV and feel like we’re smarter than everyone else while we shovel processed food into our mouths and silently grow tumors in our GI tracts.
The future belongs to the young.
That’s the real story.
FWIW I am still voting Vermin Supreme because I want my free pony.
blahblahblahParticipant
Unless I’m missing something that video basically says votes be damned…. subvert the process by taking advantage of the fact that these delegates are not bound.
In other words a legal, but unethical, cheat.
What is unethical? If the Santorum/Romney/Gingrich crowd is so enthusiastic, they should stick around after the straw vote and ensure that they get the delegates. The RP supporters are not “subverting” the process, they are participating in the process.

What do logarithms have to do with picking stocks?
He claimed there was a system or logarithm as to how stocks were pumped and dumped and that it was impossible for a human to work around the maniuplation of the market. I was merely asking him about his statement.
Actually I was just trying to see if you had misspelled “algorithm” or if you didn’t understand what a logarithm is. With this post you have clarified this — you have no idea what a logarithm is. Given that you are not aware of a basic math construct that you should have learned in the 8th grade, be careful rolling with the Big Boyz when playing in your Ameritrade account. The Big Boyz did not sleep through their math classes and they have 3L33T Math Skillz.

blahblahblahParticipantSome thoughts:
* If you are well-to-do, go to Mission Hills
* North Park/South Park/Hillcrest/University Heights/Kensington are where you want to be otherwise
* Also Normal Heights (north of adams) is pretty cool
* Avoid downtown
* Liberty Station is nice, convenient and dull. I wouldn’t want to live there.
There are great condos in Hillcrest, prices are lower than in years as are interest rates. SFHs are more expensive and will probably have maintenance issues. That’s okay though because the weather is fine and it doesn’t rain much so a house with some issues here isn’t so bad, really.
Not sure about the school situation. There are a lot of low-income kids in this area, scores may not be the best, etc… But at least they don’t have lots of money to spend on drugs and cars paid for by their parents like they do in the “good” school districts.
blahblahblahParticipantCertainly no major city has ever become a tourist mecca without an American football stadium paid for by the public but whose revenue goes to a few politically well-connected wealthy people. Everyone knows the only reason people go to New York is as a stopover point on the way to New Jersey to watch the Giants play. Amsterdam and London were little more than hellish malarial backwaters until NFL Europe came to town, bringing hordes of European fans of American football and their suitcases full of funny-looking colored money.
blahblahblahParticipant
I have NO IDEA if the Ron Paul supporters that tend to SWARM online message boards are AUTHENTIC OR NOT, but I BELIEVE they are veritably assuring Obama’s reelection. I had a chance to talk today to MANY DEMOCRATS who had voted for Obama in 2008. Most of them aren’t exactly thrilled with Obama’s accomplishments (or lack thereof), but they are almost all UNIVERSALLY TERRIFIED OF RON PAUL.
When I dug deeper, I discovered that they weren’t so much SCARED OF RON PAUL, but they were mostly TERRIFIED OF HIS SUPPORTERS. In many cases, they had had run-ins with a Ron Paul supporter online. The experience almost always left them with a HORRIBLE AFTERTASTE. They had typically been open to an alternative to Obama prior to the run-in, but were so SHOCKED by the RANTS of the Ron Pual supporters that they decided that OBAMA IS MUCH BETTER than any of the alternatives on the right.

Frank, is that you? This is a 100% content free post, just a string of emotionally charged phrases carefully chosen so that those giving this a cursory reading will have a negative feeling about Ron Paul and his supporters afterwards. The casual reader will also have a sense that Obama’s reelection is inevitable and that it will be a good thing. The post seems designed to target in particular the swing voter who would normally vote Democratic but might be considering Paul for his anti-war and pro-freedom stance. Those lacking the background in psychology and NLP techniques will typically not recognize this sort of manipulation and the “trigger phrases” will recall the emotions the programmer wants the subject to feel.
RON PAUL SUPPORTERS SWARM
UNIVERSALLY TERRIFIED OF RON PAUL
SCARED OF RON PAUL
SHOCKED
TERRIFIED OF HIS SUPPORTERS
HORRIBLE AFTERTASTE
RANTS OF THE RON PAUL SUPPORTERS
OBAMA IS MUCH BETTERThat is the kernel of this post, the remainder is simply the Flintstones vitamin candy coating designed to deliver the content deep into the subject’s subconscious mind.
Language is a very powerful tool.
FWIW I am still voting Vermin Supreme in 2012. My neighborhood is overrun with zombies and I want to see them put to good use generating energy rather than shuffling down the street and moaning.
Also I am looking forward to my free pony.
blahblahblahParticipant
Yeah and vermin supreme will get everything under control if you will only let him implement the federal mandatory dental health laws.
I just want my free pony, which I believe falls under the “general welfare” clause.
