Example: “Damn, that house looks so chinky…” (plastic vinyl covers, redwood furniture, the works.)FLU, I think the word you’re looking for here is “chintzy” which is actually has Hindi/Urdu roots and means “gaudily or cheaply decorated”. I am a bit of a racial/ethnic slur aficionado and I have never heard anyone say “chinky”.
BTW, if you enjoy a good uncomfortable ethnic slur as much as I do, make sure to see “Gran Torino”. My only regret is that I didn’t get see it in a left-wing politically correct enclave like San Francisco. I can only imagine the audible gasps at some of the dialogue. I’ll bet people actually walked out…

Participantpp, it’s no different than with Dubya. Dubya seemed like “normal folks” to a huge percentage of the country, so even when he screwed up these people kept on supporting him. With Obama they’ve just given the football to the other half of the country. Again, to a lot of us, he seems like a great guy that you’d like to hang out and have a beer with. Just like Dubya. And just as with Dubya, the other half of the country will scream bloody murder that the guy doesn’t have a clue — and they’ll be right!
They have this down to a science now. There’s no use fighting it. It will collapse of its own weight in time; right now the best we can do is to try and prepare for what comes next.

Hahahaha I love it! Or even better let’s get some of my homeless neighbors set up in them. I after all have a roof over my head but there are lots of people in this town that don’t. Might as well put those bank-owned foreclosures to good use.
What a sickening misallocation of resources. Here in downtown they are STILL building condo towers that will be completely dark every night just like all the others while thousands sleep in the streets below.
Of course the Masters Of The Universe will soon fix the economy and people will again be buying $600K condos downtown and paying their $500/mo HOA dues. Or not. Who cares anymore?
