ParticipantEast Buffet is fun because they have such variety; frog legs, chicken feet, octopus.
My favorite place in San Diego, and it’s not Chinese but Korean – is Convoy Tofu House. It’s not the kind of place that’s going to put you in a food coma, it’s alot healtier – but I don’t know if I’d call everything healthy.
Like most Korean places they serve you little bowls of pre-meal snacks, like kimchi, pickled sprouts, potatos and this yummy cucumber stuff. If you go there, I highly reccomend trying the Hot Tofu soup- they have vegetarian varieties but not all are – and it’s nothing like egg drop soup which to me is just too unhealthy with all the salt and corn starch. Anyways, my friends told me about the soup, and I was always reluctant but once I had it I loved it. They bring it out in a clay pot and it’s boiling when you get it – they give you an egg to crack in it and it’s deeeelish!! You can get different varietes, like seafood(oysters, clams, shrimp) or kimchi for vegetarians. My only reccomendation is to ask for the spicy version. They put some sort of cayenne or hot chili beans in it and you will get a rush much like a Jalapeno! After the meal you won’t feel all bogged down and it’s really cheap. $20-25 bucks for two to get stufffed.
Have fun!

ParticipantMy biggest pet-peeve, and it’s sort of weird… When actors in movies are talking with food in their mouth.. I cannot stand this. It’s always used in snooty lines to try and give a lame remark an off the cuff feel. To me it seems like an annoying overdone/cheap-trick. Curious if anyone notices this, or understands what I’m saying.
The other is, in a busy intersection with a backed up left turn lane wreaking havoc on the traffic going straight – the light turns green and some people drive as if they’re doing a scenic route – accelerating much slower than other cars and driving with a huge amount of space between them and the next car. It’s like a light that should like 20 cars through ends up letting 5 through. I think drivers should be aware when there is a bad jam, and drive a little more alert and quickly to alleviate it.

ParticipantI work in software engineering. I moved away from California – to better weather and less crowds. Same wage, 42% lower cost of living. That’s the way to get a raise without asking.
