ParticipantOH, also – this driver says the hardest part of his job was pickups. Delivering isn’t so bad, but all the pickups when done delivering was the hustle part of the job. Says the truck was almost always filled on pickups – now says that he can walk up and down the truck at the end of the day because it’s so empty.

ParticipantMy 2 fav places in North County are – West Steakhouse and King’s Fish House(both in Carlsbad).
West has the best homemade Caesar dressing I’ve ever had(it’s the real deal with anchovies; very pasty and delicious)
King’s Miyagi oyster shooters are yum. They put 1-2 fresh shucked large oysters in a shotglass with minced cucumbers, ginger, roe and some others stuff in a vinegar sauce. Everyone I’ve taken there became hooked – even folks who were iffy on the oyster thing before going. Yum! Some of their stuff IMO is just OK/overpriced, but I always go there for shooters and soft shell crabs when in season.
Also: If you’re a real sushi fan and like huge portions of fish and are not averse to places that are not decorated all nicely or don’t have the best waiter service. You MUST try Sushi N Joy in Oceanside. It’s a married couple that run it, and they are the Sushi chefs – everyday all day(not sunday). Decor is a little tacky might look dirty, but it’s a great place to get a ton of fish from a real chef. He doesn’t focus on presentation, just fish quality and quantity. I’d reccomend sticking with the Nigiri and let it be known that you like fish.. he reads body language I believe to determine what type of preparation for each customer. I’ve had sushi hundreds of times from just about every place in San Diego.. and this is far and away my favorite. http://www.yelp.com/biz/sushi-n-joy-oceanside

ParticipantAs to the carrier cuts – what about LEAP/Cricket?
Could see them actually pick up subscribers during these times – esp since they don’t require contracts/credit checks and have the most affordable unlimited, right?
Though I still don’t like them much 😉 I invested almost all of my money in them when I was 17. One day the stock just disappears and I got nothing for it.. then they somehow reissue and it went to $60 or something ;(

ParticipantI used to live on 76 when it was “Mission Ave” or “slaughter alley”. When I was a kid you rarely even needed to look before pulling out onto Mission Ave. Anyone else remember that!
I think we’ll see the same amount of congestion as more people will use that route to connect to the 5 for people connecting to areas near like Del Mar/Solana Beach/Carmel Valley.
What they really need is a connecting train to the Oceanside Coaster station. I guess the 78 train seeks to do that but haven’t seen how much it’s helped traffic as I’m out of state now.
