ParticipantSo, it is not hypocrisy, but two opposing forces working? That requires explanation. In your words, you need to finish that particular thought. The truncated version you just tossed out there doesn’t get it, and leaves more unanswered than answered. In other words, a dodge.
I don’t think you’re a pedophile. At least, I hope you’re not. What is the fascination with altar boys (regardless of size)? Is it that corruption of the innocent (which smacks somewhat of a rather predatory approach) you voiced earlier, or is there something else lurking there?
My wife is a converted Presbie. She converted to Catholicism (of her own accord, I certainly did not push in that direction).
I get the sense that the “dearest” is a nose tweak. I could be wrong, of course.

ParticipantNo cat and mouse. However, it is probably only fair at the outset to state that I do detect a whiff of hypocrisy every now and again. Example, you ask? Well, I opined once about marijuana and was accused of being a pothead. You follow this evening with that little gem about corrupting the innocent. While I recognize that it was good fun, you would have to admit that there is something of a double standard at work here.
So, yes, I would be curious to hear your views, as long as your recognize that you can’t eat your cake and have it too.
That “dearest” thing is somewhat worrisome. Especially after that whole thrust and riposte business surrounding Catholicism and your desire to deflower altar boys. Ewww.

ParticipantI actually was an altar boy. When you say robe, I think Franciscan friar kinda thing. I did have a cassock for Mass, and it sounds like that would do the trick in your whole “corrupting the innocent” routine.
When I said I got crazy and scary out of my system, I was being somewhat tongue in cheek. Getting shot at was quite enough for me, thanks, and I have tried to avoid scary since then, especially in relationships. Although I’m left with the impression that your “scary” routine might be more bark than bite, especially given the protestations about your old-fashioned side.
How, exactly, do I “finish it”?
