ParticipantMeadandale: I wouldn’t expect much in terms of a substantive reply. Breeze shares Marion’s disdain for “trivial details” (the facts).
Everything is simply Dems versus Repubs (with the Dems always being right, and supported by their admirable record supporting same) and the facts are conveniently thrown out the window if they don’t fit the response.
I tried to engage Breeze regarding Jon Weil’s excellent Bloomberg article about Obama’s appointments reflecting “business as usual” and his response was that he didn’t read the article (the link to which was attached). I suggested he read the article and then respond. Radio silence followed.
Polemics aren’t going to solve the problem, but that’s all some folks have to hang their hats on.

ParticipantBreeze: Again, polemics over substance. The problems we’re confronting now are structural in nature and go back 30+ years and span both Dem and Repub administrations.
To hold that the Republicans are solely to blame for all of this or that Dubya fiendishly engineered this problem in his waning days is nothing short of absurd. Where is Greenspan and his recklessly loose monetary policy in all this? Where are the politicians (from both sides of the aisle) that aided and abetted the decades of fraudulent policies (or lack of policies)?
This has been one massive con game, run for decades, to hide the fact that Americans don’t make anything anymore, our wages are stagnant and our way of life has been paid for by ever increasing mountains of debt (personally, commercially and nationally) and now the bill has come due.
You think Obama is gonna fix this? Jesus the Lord couldn’t fix this with von Mises and Rothbard in tow! Wake up and smell the collapse, amigo.

Participantasianautica: It doesn’t end. This is a huge shakedown, and a thinly veiled attempt by Paulson to keep the gravy train rolling for Wall Street with no questions asked. He’s used fear mongering, misinformation and a gullible Congress and President to further this plan.
The Big 3 are looking for the same handout and why not? Rather than let the market determine the outcome, or use the BK courts (in the case of Ford and GM), instead everyone is lining up with their hand out. Welcome to the new America. Welfare for everyone!
