ParticipantWaiting hawk: The address comes back as valid on Mapquest. I’m going to call the number and get the family’s last name and send a check over. It might be a scam, but so what?
It’s bugging me, too, and it’s freakin’ Christmas. If my mom were still alive today, she’d kick my ass for not doing something.

ParticipantWaiting hawk: Jesus, if it’s true, that’s awful. As much as I was one of those standing on the sidelines shaking my head during this whole bubble nonsense, you can’t help but be moved by this (and frightened, too).
This is like something out of Dickens. And it’s going to get far, far worse before it gets any better.
What a terrible way to spend Christmas.

Participanttlefort: A gal I know moved from Fallbrook to Temecula horse country and picked up an 18ac place with a 3,000sf home (backside of wine country) for $616k (priced down from $900k). This was during the summer.
I don’t know how far prices have declined since then, but my daughter rides locally (Bonsall) and I know the “horsey” set has been hit particularly hard as of late and folks are selling horses, trailers, trucks and properties due to the financial drain TG mentioned.
