Participantafx: My dad was from Chicago and my mom was from Detroit, so I had the benefit growing up of listening to the whole ‘Hawks v. ‘Wings rivalry and all that entailed.
My family hails from the Midwest, so all my cousins were hockey freaks and my growing up in the SF/Bay Area never got me into the whole hockey mindset. I do like the Sharks, though I concur with a buddy of mine who claims the best hockey is played in the NCAA.

ParticipantTG: What a day yesterday, huh? It’s fun when you have a season finish with that much high drama.
I especially enjoyed watching Chad Pennington come home and beat the Jets and give us the added bonus of sending the hated Patsies home for the playoffs.
Then Dallas gets jolly stomped by Philly and there’s Jerry Jones looking like someone just shot his dog (which, in a sense, they did). Best of all worlds, he stands by his word and retains both the talent and the coaching staff for next season. I always felt like he hired Wade Philips to get the taste of Parcells out (and easy going Wade would let him meddle in team affairs to his heart’s content).
Speaking of Parcells, the Raiders are setting an appointment to speak with him in the offseason. God help everybody if he winds up in the Raiders front office, because I think the Antichrist will appear the following day.
I may not be a Chargers fan, but I hate Denver far worse and there was no better way to end the day than watching the Chargers O line literally pummel the Denver D into the dirt. One of the things I do like about the Chargers is Rivers; that boy is just bone nasty and hates to lose. He is rapidly becoming the face of that offense and his personality and Cutler’s stood in stark contrast last night. Cutler gave up. Rivers didn’t and stuck that win right down Denver’s throat. That match up with Indy will be fun next week.
afx: Why doesn’t it surprise me you’re a Kings fan? Everything makes perfect sense now. Go Sharks! Stinky LA sports; Bay Area, baby!

ParticipantTG/SDR: I don’t mean to get ahead of myself, but you’re (Chargers) up 45 – 21 with less than 10 minutes to play and it looks like Indy will be coming here next week.
I’m going to stand by what I said, that the Chargers are one of the most dangerous teams in football (although if LT is out that could become a problematic statement).
