Allan from Fallbrook
Participantsdr: One of our friends locally works on the staff of the Marshall Faulk Foundation. A couple of years back, I asked the Foundation for a small donation of a signed item that my youth football team could raffle to help raise money.
Marshall donated two signed helmets, two signed jerseys and multiple pictures and cards (all signed as well) to the team. He also got teammate Torry Holt to donate a signed helmet and signed jersey. Needless to say, we were completely blown away by the generosity. What made it truly amazing is the letter we received from him the following season asking if we needed anything for that year.
Truly a class act. I enjoyed watching him play for SDSU back in the day (back when they were good), but I really became a fan (of the person) after that act of incredible generosity.

Participantafx: You say it like it’s a bad thing. Maybe a whole group of stoners running things ain’t such a bad idea. We’d have a lot less (if any) wars, music would return to the heyday of the 1960s and 1970s (Jimi, Led Zep, The Rolling Stones) and we’d all be eating KFC and Hostess products on a much more regular basis.
I’m not sure that the last item is a net positive, but who doesn’t like KFC and Twinkies? Or Ding Dongs?

ParticipantRus: I think Rome took about as long as we (America) will to run this thing into the wall.
Look on the bright side: Jamul and Fallbrook are enough off the beaten path to be ignored by the large mobs of angry villagers with pitchforks.
Not as a parting shot, but food for thought: If you had to choose to trust the Russians or the Chinese, would you? I know that’s a worst case example and it would appear to support my point, but both of these countries wield power and influence in today’s world and far outside their borders. That’s the worldview that informs my approach.
