My cousin works for IBM in New York. They supply mainframes to Wal-Mart. IBM has a whole team working for Wal-Mark. He tells me that they have the best IT system of any retailer.
Yet, insufficient when they tried to compete with Aldi in Germany or Shinsegae in South Korea.

I am talking about the same items that cost much less at Walmart or Costco. Try to buy a box of cereal at Ralphs and then at Walmart. You will save at least 50 cents at Walmart. And don’t tell me that the eggs and milk are Walmart are inferior.
Eating out at Fastfoods or high end restaurants is an entirely different matter.

Read all about the fake cheese http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-imitation-cheese.htm. For real, read the label before you buy processed food.
I still find the dining analogy adequate. You can get the same dish for less money if you don’t tip, no? The same way you get the diapers for less if you shop at Walmart. Or you can get crappy food and fast track medical condition if you eat at fast food places, like you do if you feed yourself with the crap carried by Walmart.
And no, the eggs and pies sold @ Ralph’s or Henry’s are not the same as the stuff sold @ Walmart.

allParticipant
I never shop Vons and Ralphs again. I either shop at Asian Supermarkets, Costco or Walmart. I usually save about 20 to 25% ($150/month) by not shopping at Vons and Ralphs.
Why should I spend $150 extra monthly to help unionized workers at Vons and Ralphs to bag grocery, stock the shelves or clean the floor when they can hire people to do the same things for half the cost? The same thing is happening at unionized GM and Chrysler, why should tax payers giving the two companies more than $50 bil so uneducated workers can make $30/hour in wages + $35/hour in benefits? Can you believe benefits cost more than the salary? Mine is about 35% of my salary and I am happy.
Make sure you read the labels. Walmart sells processed cheese (not very healthy food to start with) slices made with no cheese. There is only so much produce, labor (applies to kids working in the fields as well) and quality control that $.88 can buy
Why should you spend more? Do you tip when you dine out? Do you eat out in fast food places only?
