It will take some massive changes in the Mexican government before most people who used to go will begin to go again because of the drug wars. I have some die hard fishermen friends who still go, but they fly in, so it is probably different than driving down there.

Sounds like a good poll question. I have not been down there in probably 25 years and would not go near the place now due to the drug wars. It is too bad. We used to go there to eat and shop in the 70- early 80’s. We even drove to La Paz when the road was first opened up and camped out along the way.

I do not think it has anything to do with smart or stupid so much as luck and timing. I was lucky to be able to buy when I did and I also lived a very low profile life to be able to save for a down payment in 1990. I read what many of you write all the time. Except for a few spammers, I have never read anything that would indicate the majority of you are anything, but bright people. Maybe we need to define ourselves in terms of who we are more than what we own.
