ParticipantBecause he does not want to pay the taxes he has to pay. He sold his business and he is in a high tax bracket. I think he figures with money you can get the best medical care just about any where by paying as you go. His wife does not work either, so I guess he will just have to stay here and change the government back to the Reagan era. He received excellent treatment at Scripps La Jolla.

ParticipantAnd they are very picky about who they allow in. They reject people with health issues, even rich people because they do not want to end up supporting them. I have a friend who had a heart attack and wanted to move his family there and was refused. He is a multi-millionaire and they rejected him. Unlike the U.S., Australia does not take people in who will be a burden on the health care system.
