ParticipantCall and or write to the Mayor and complain about the lack of enforcement at the drug house. This complaint, especially if in writing will be forwarded to the Chief with some kind of tracking to respond back to the Mayor. Someone higher than the Officer who you spoke to will probably contact you about how to take care of the problem. They will probably tell you that you need to write down license numbers and give you someone to notify. They will also say they are short of officers and are doing the best they can and that a lot of the task force personnel have been redeployed because of all the cutbacks. They also might pitch it to Neighborhood Watch and or Code Enforcement to help you with the problem. You need to be a pain about it and a broken record. If it gets worse and they do nothing, then I recommend Turko. He usually gets their attention. Good luck. Stay safe.

ParticipantIf you do not take flu’s advice, then get some security in the house: alarm system and perhaps a dog. I support having firearms in the house for personal protection only if you know how to use one and do not have small children that might have access to the firearm. However if you have children and firearms, then by all means teach them how to use them at an early age. You do not have to have an attack trained large dog, just a dog that will bark when they hear something unusual or in my dogs case, every time someone rings the bell. Some insurance companies will drop you if you have certain breeds on a list they have. You should also enhance perimeter security if you stay with motion sensing lights.

ParticipantFinally something Brian and I agree on: I would rather be rich than poor, too. Not Gates rich with security guards, comfortable rich, so I can pay vet bills, etc. If we need anything it is government health care for pets.
