2Buy-or-Not2BuyParticipantOn a positive note, my wife and I have been able to use Marion’s various posts as a lesson to my daughter about what happens to people who are unable to take care of themselves. I showed my daughter the first message that Marion posted complaining about her husband reducing alimony support to her, along with the most recent post about not being able to deal with a mouse. For some reason, Marion has been unable to get a job “in her field yet” also known as “still does not have a real job” despite the fact that she has a 15 year old child, so she is no spring chicken. I also used the examples Marion posted about her appearance and ability to make great pot roast and cookies as examples of her desperate trolling for a new mate, so that she never has to grow up. So, Marion, on behalf of parents everywhere, I say “thank you”.

2Buy-or-Not2BuyParticipantSD R,
Thanks for starting this thread. This is one of those times when the old saying “no good deed goes unpunished” seems appropriate. I appreciate your contributions to the board and think that you do a great job of providing very helpful, practical information. You have also been clear from the beginning (user name and all) that you are a realtor, so it should come as no surprise that you bring that to the table. So, please keep doing what you are doing. Those of us who find value in your posts will continue to read them. Those who do not find value in your posts can ignore them. It is still a free country after all.

2Buy-or-Not2BuyParticipantHere are some other examples that support sdrealtor’s view that we are near 2004 prices (at least in Kensington):
Kensington (north of Adams)… purchased for $599k in Oct 2004, now listed for $589k-$619k and on market for 80 days.
Kensington (north of Adams)… purchased for $729k in Mar 2004, now listed for $699k-$735k and on market for 55 days.
Kensington (north of Adams)… purchased for $900k in Jul 2004, now listed for $859k and on market for 27 days after a previous listing expired earlier this year.
2Buy-or-Not2BuyParticipantExactly. Some people consider themselves brilliant when they make money on the way up, but when they lose money on the way down, it is someone else’s fault. Unfortunately, I expect lawsuits against appraisers, agents, brokers, etc. in the future which in most cases will be unjustified. I’m not a RE professional, but I would be making sure that I had a good lawyer and adequate liability insurance if I were in the business. It never ceases to amaze me that people win lawsuits no matter how ridiculous and irresponsible their own behavior is.
