BG, I agree with you on the rental potential. Wish I could find ’em like this here in the DC area.
I’m curious about one thing: Did you notice that the price was supposedly dropped from $239,000 to $199K in February, and subsequently raised to $230K in March? Any idea what that’s all about?
Also, I didn’t notice an AK47 on the bed, but there was something wrapped in tissue paper at the bottom of the bed that had the shape of a sawed-off shotgun….Note to self: birthday gift dilemma for hubby solved.
eaves, all I can figure on the recent price hike is that the listing started out as a “wishful” short sale and the first or second lender would not accept an offer accepted by the seller in the $199K range so they moved the price up to the ballpark of what would make a future deal fly for all interested parties, thus it is apparently now an “approved short-sale.” Regardless, $230K is not bad for this house. This area traditionally has many double lots and larger lots, although this listing doesn’t specify lot size. The lot seems narrow and the front driveway cramped, esp with that RV parked there, but we don’t know how big the back yard is. It could be quite deep.
The photo of the gun is the fifth one, I believe. Not exactly sure what we’re looking at here, or if its real :=]

Most of the pictures are just fine… but the house itself is the problem. Who puts a doublewide trailer on your roof?
I’m not a fan of the mansard roof to start off with – but I guess it makes it easier to put a trailer on the roof.
My husband has joked about taking pictures of it and putting it in his portfolio… just to see if potential employers even look at his portfolio… because it’s that ridiculous.

Wow, they’re pretty proud of that house (price).
What is the purpose of having a roof like that? It’s definitely not attractive. Is it cheaper to build?
