We live in Scripps Ranch and drive all through Poway, RB, PQ for weekly errands and daughter’s activites….is it me or does it seem dead out there?
I know that total listings have inched up by reading the bubble blog updates, I know that homes in our general area are for sale from the U-T Homes For Sale section.
But where are all the signs, open houses, etc.? We went to 4S Ranch two weekends ago and saw 5 total lawn signs – 3 were for homes for sale (one said it was pending) and 2 were advertising rentals. Now I KNOW there are more than 3 homes for sale in 4S..What gives?
Has anyone else noticed? Do you think the NAR is advising their members to keep things on the down low to keep the train on the tracks?
Poway agents are no longer putting up for sales signs at high visibility street corners (think intersection of Pomerado and Stone Canyon, for instance)as they supposedly violate some city ordinance. In fact they recently took a ton of signs down. Makes one think there are no more listings in Poway…how convenient that the agents have decided to police themselves now that the market is down the tubes;-)
Advertising for 4S resales seem to be restricted by the Master Developer until 4S is fully built out…any “Open House” signs you see over there appear to be placed by the “renegades” skirting the rules.
Obviously, a large part of 4Closure Ranch is 4sale.
Late last Summer/Fall we’d drive from Scripps Ranch to say Target in Poway and every corner would be filled w/ For Sale and Open Home signs. It all tapered off in Dec. as one would expect with the holiday season and people pulling off the market or choosing not to list, but now that listings are coming back on the market and we’re heading towards the number of active listings we had in Dec. ’06 it just surprised me that there is virtually no signage in an area where the signs used to multiply like rabbits every weekend.
