It’s interesting that Jobs decided to tear down the old house although he knew that he would likely not survive to see the construction of the new house.
I have a problem with preservationists. They are successful in preventing some teardowns, but determined homeowners who have enough money and wherewithal usually win.
My feeling is that we should preserve the more significant older and bigger houses, rather than the 2000sf or smaller houses.
