What banks in San Diego sell gold?

I cannot find any local or small banks or credit unions here in San Diego that sell gold Kruggerands or any gold coins. What gives? I want to save on dealer commission by buy my gold directly from a bank.

I find it odd that a bank does own or sell gold.

I’ve never heard of buying gold from a bank. I thought that we went off the gold standard nearly 40 years ago. Why would they even have gold on the premises ?

How much gold did you want to buy? You need a big safety deposit box to store more than 100 ounces. Storing silver in a safety deposit box is a waste of space unless you get one of those big boxes.
