Last year I went to a wedding at Rimrock Ranch near Pioneertown and fell in love with the area/lifestyle. Some modernist architecture combined with the rustic cabins felt like the best of both worlds. But I’d probably end up drinking my life away at Pappy & Harriets if I lived up there.
And the problem is….?
You could stay where you’re at, and drink your life away there…or get hit by a bus….or any number of exciting possibilities.
I’m in favor of drinking your life away in an aesthetically pleasing environment.

September 27, 2010 at 9:50 AM #609678mydogsarelazyParticipantIts a matter of taste. I find the Pioneertown area to be one of the most beautiful places in the world, even after the fire.
Not everyone does.
Some people like pine trees, some like the coast, some like the desert.

I like them all, but for pioneer town, I can’t help but thinking that if you took away the tourist attractions and the joshua trees you would be in Hemet…not that there is anything wrong with Hemet.September 27, 2010 at 11:09 AM #609806NotCrankyParticipant
Its a matter of taste.
