Didn’t both McCain and Obama vote for the bailout?
It will be interesting to see if the number of disgruntled voters here on this board is also reflected in Susan Davis’ constituency. I am not in her district so have no say.
Her district is about 2 to 1 democrat so there would have to be a high level of discontent for her to lose her position.
It is somewhat humorous that the poll on her own website is 84 to 7 against the bailout yet she voted for it. I guess she believes she understands the issue better than her constituents. I guess most politicians fall into that category.
Well, we shall she what happens on election day. I’ll put my money on her keeping her job. Michael Crimmins on the Republican side and Edward Teyssier on the Libertarian side don’t look too formidable so I think you are all stuck with Davis for the time being.
Personally, I am thinking about voting against any and every incumbent I can. I think the entire government has gone down the tubes more so than any other time in our history. It has nothing to do with governing anymore, and is simply a machine to siphon off as much money as possible from the public as it sells us down the river to the first corporation with a campaign contribution. If nothing else, it will take a little while for all the new people to become as corrupt, and then we can just replace them. A couple rounds of this will wake people up.
