Participant
”The unemployment rate fell to 8.8%, down from 9.8% in April 2010. All it took was 2.8 million Americans to leave the labor force to achieve this fabulous reduction in the unemployment rate. The percentage of Americans in the labor force of 64.2% is the lowest since 1983.”
That’s just baby boomers exhausting their 2-yr UI benefit (w/3 extensions), taking their “golden handshake” and finally throwing in the towel …. yawn.
Nothing to see here. Most of these jobs won’t be replaced π

Participant
I agree with you. Whether this hits SD hard is to be seen. It seems like our high-end jobs have fared well relatively speaking. I was just looking at a couple Beverly Hills listings that make me want to move up there. $1.3M actually gets you a million-dollar home now.
You can get a lot more for 1M in SD than in Los Angeles
