Participant
”I used to walk further in high school – uphill both ways… through the snow….”
In an effort to avoid buying them cars, my sister used to tell her kids the same story. It worked for a while till her kids figured out we lived a block from the school.
Actually – I lived in UC and went to Clairemont High – my choice was bus or bike. My dad didn’t give us bus money – so I did ride my bike, uphill both ways. (San Clemente canyon.)My kids will have it easy – UCHS is walking distance. (They’re also screwed when it comes to getting a car.)

ParticipantSeems to me that even if the trolley brought more people to the area, there isn’t much chance of it could add automobile traffic. Just more people at the malls and stores.
Trollies are electric and thus pretty quiet so I’d guess it will be fairly non-invasive.
Would be nice to get a spur into Pacific Beach, though it may prove difficult to wash the puke smell out after enough twenty-somethings use it for the ride home after the party.
