Actually the old 5 gallon toilets are ugly. The early low flow toilets from the 90s don’t work well. I think low flow technology got perfected around 2010.
Even if your toilet looks similar to the new toilets, they are not the same.
One major water waste is malfunctioning flap. And idiot residents never check. New toilets have better flap mechanism. In HOAs, water bill is a major expense. Owners should be encouraged to replace toilets for the benefit of everyone. That and dropping faucets.
