PADDYHO in the past two weeks I’ve come across two individuals looking to buy a new car. Both were shopping Japanese brands. When I asked them if they had considered an American brand they both looked at me with an odd look and basically asked “why would I do that”. No shit. I like both these people and they were not responding in any kind of US cars suck way; they just never put any thought into it.
It never occurred to them that they could support America in a time of great trouble. Also neither knew that American cars rank amongst the top most well built, affordable, reliable and economical cars on the market. I told them where to go to see the data and told them a bit about some American models.
Neither of them were offended, quite the opposite, they thought I had introduced them to something worthwhile.
Anyway, I think what you are doing will, at the very least, bring attention to this issue and get people who otherwise would not go look at Chevy or Ford, to do so.
I think you may have more success with Jeff by starting an Email campaign to Disney Studios. Tell people to let Disney know that they will not go to the theatre or video rental store to see Tron 2.0 or any other Bridges movie. Speak with your wallet and people will start to listen.
If Jeff wants to do those commercials that’s his right, if we don’t want to blow $13 seeing his movies then it’s our right to get our message across in that manner. Just a thought.

It’s paddyOH by the way. 🙂
I run into the same people. It get’s frustrating sometimes but fulfilling when you win someone back over to the “home team”.
Keep up your good work. 🙂
As for the foreseeable future, I will continue to ask that reasonable folks respectfully ask Jeff Bridges to dump the Hyundai advertising gig.

If your Freedom of Speech is denied, go here:
Then, very politely ask Jeff Bridges to support the country that helped make him famous and drop the Hyundai ads.
HIE-YUN-DIE ~ Hyundai does NOT rhyme with Sunday in blue-collar America.
It’s time America stopped being Asia’s Landfill and it’s time Americans helped out.
