Are there others here, like me, who believe that, with so many looming problems on the horizon (think underfunded pensions, underfunded Social Security program, state tax shortfalls and their resultant cuts to infrastructure and services, permanently high unemployment figures), that we should just go ahead and accelerate the inevitable and get it all over with? The sooner we get to and through our darkest days ahead, the sooner we can deliver bright promise to ourselves and future generations.
