The Tea Party is attempting to avoid a future crisis. I don’t see how the Federal Government spending 60% more than it earns (taxes) can end in anything but disaster. To say they are “manufacturing” a crisis borders on delusional.
Creating a crisis to solve an unknown bigger future crisis is not well-intentioned and honest compromise.
It’s dangerous brinkmanship because the politics can get out control.

The Tea Party fought the good fight and lost.

I think the Tea Party won at a cost to all of us.
I expect more of the same over the 2012 budget.

Ok. That’s what S&P is worried about — a debt ceiling fight every year. That’s the new reality that the Tea Party created that wasn’t there before.August 9, 2011 at 9:07 AM #716706briansd1Guest
The only well thought out posts that caught my eye were from Evesdropper.
SD realtor and the rest of your ilk depend on lies to try to make a point. When a stupid dog pisses on the carpet it gets its face rubbed in it. If it doesn’t learn it gets put down.
I’m just rubbing his face in his lies. Hope your little buddy learns or its off to the pound.
P.S. Were you the one that tried to argue that the crusades and the inquisitions weren’t religious terrorism? I think I read that ignorant tripe on here last week. If it was you I have to say I laughed my ass off at that completely biased, naive, and foolish mess. I’ve been to Portugal and Spain and know all to well about your religious terrorism.
I’m heading back to Europe in 2 days so you little intellectually bereft Teahadists can get back to your ignorant drivel.
Have fun with your goons like Perry and Bachmann.
Bill: More hyperbolic vituperation and completely devoid of facts. Plenty of strawmen and ad hominem, though, to go around.
Sadly, we’ll all deeply feel the loss of your towering intellect as you head back to the continent. Your well-reasoned and thoughtful dialogue and your artfully fashioned arguments have been a boon to us all, truly.
If you’re heading back to Old Blighty, make sure you stop by Brixton and Tottenham and say hello. Seems like things are going really well in those two neighborhoods.
As to Portugal and Spain: I’ve been to both and I fail to see your point. I did get massively drunk in Rota, Spain, so I can recommend their drinking establishments without reservation. Again, you offer no facts; only that your having been there somehow lends credence to an assertion unsupported by any evidence. Explain to me (using small words, of course) where I was wrong on both the Crusades and the Inquisition. Oh, its “all TOO well” and not “all to well”. You must have been out sick at your Swiss boarding school the day they taught English. Probably boning up on the Basel bank regs or something.
