I should also add that the debt ceiling itself add uncertainty to the markets.
Should America be fighting over the debt ceiling year after year, especially when the debt limit is not about future spending but about past and existing bills?
Creditors have to be a little uneasy about that even if they know that America has never defaulted before.
If they Tea Party is successful at shutting down 40% of the government, then how does the Treasury prioritize payments. Do bondholders come before Federal employees? We’ll see many lawsuits.

I don’t see any likely hood that we will make any significant spending cuts absent a real borrowing crisis such as Greece, Spain, and Italy are experiencing. This could occur tomorrow or years from now. If we continue to run up a debt we have no hope of repaying, it will happen.[/quote]It seems like the Tea Party is thinking “let’s manufacture a crisis because, absent a crisis, we won’t get our way.” That’s a dangerous game to play and puts at risk the welfare of all Americans.

The only well thought out posts that caught my eye were from Evesdropper.
SD realtor and the rest of your ilk depend on lies to try to make a point. When a stupid dog pisses on the carpet it gets its face rubbed in it. If it doesn’t learn it gets put down.
I’m just rubbing his face in his lies. Hope your little buddy learns or its off to the pound.
P.S. Were you the one that tried to argue that the crusades and the inquisitions weren’t religious terrorism? I think I read that ignorant tripe on here last week. If it was you I have to say I laughed my ass off at that completely biased, naive, and foolish mess. I’ve been to Portugal and Spain and know all to well about your religious terrorism.
I’m heading back to Europe in 2 days so you little intellectually bereft Teahadists can get back to your ignorant drivel.
Have fun with your goons like Perry and Bachmann.

I’d recommend Harvard Business Review if you can get someone to read it and explain all the big words to you.
Good luck with that.
