My point is that their “suffering” is all relative. In the whole scheme of things, they’re not really “suffering.” Their world view is so narrow that they just think they’re suffering. And I don’t have a lot of sympathy for such “suffering.”

If you want to see real suffering, head down to east Tijuana sometime. Then come back and tell me how difficult some SD resident’s life is with a mortgage that’s $100K underwater.

But how can either party be happy? I mean, why coerce someone into doing something they don’t want to do? I envision resentment. I just don’t understand why a woman would have to manipulate some guy to having a kid. That doesn’t seem like a good, solid foundation for a happy and harmonious relationship. I also don’t know why a guy would allow or tolerate or accept this behavior and go along w/it.

1) Perceived security.
a/ He won’t leave her otherwise he’ll have to leave his progeny.
b/ He won’t leave her because he won’t want some other guy raising his kids.

2) Financial deterrent.
a/ I’ll bankrupt you if you leave me.
b/ You’ll pay dearly for your kids but you won’t see them.
