I have a friend who has a Viking fridge. No lie- she’s had 27 service calls in 2 years.
Viking has now sent out their sales rep from AZ, and they’re going to remove it.
Viking does not yet know how to make fridges. Cook tops yes, but not fridges. Tell your buddy he just wasted a lot of money.

They invite you over, without giving fair warning you'll be tortured by:
1) Their bragging how their 60" plasma can now surf the web, ‘cause they hooked it up to a PC, which leads into….
2) It can also display the multiple Terabytes of photos of their "adorable kids" from the extra PC they now have hooked to the plasma. Which leads into….
3) Seeing a “a few photos” turns into TWO HOURS of looking at awful photos of their spoiled kids. I’m talkin’ people who could NOT take a good photo on accident. People that didn’t even take the time to re-orient images so people are right-side UP, after their 10 Mpixel camera upchucked thousands of images from their every insipid family event just so you can see each and every boring dreadful image.I bet you know at least one family just like them?
My wife and I don't have kids yet. When we start (plan to soon) we promise never to torture our friends by showing them thousands of digital images of our kids.
I bet they just bought one of those digital SLRs and think they're "pro", like a Canon Digital Rebel or Nikon. Of course, they probably got it with the crappy kit lens that sold at retail stores. But, hey having an SLR makes you a pro. I've seen it so many times.
Though, I would say once you have a kid, you're probably be taking a crapload of pictures yourself. My wife and I promised never to bore the hell out of our non-kiddy friends, so we never do this. 🙂
I wouldn't understand why a techie would brag about surfing on a 60" plasma. Plasma's have one of the worst resolutions for computer work. Your friend obviously is a wannabe techie.

August 27, 2007 at 9:58 AM #81522no_such_realityParticipantThat’s the problem with digital. When in doubt, take the shot. There’s no cost to taking 1000 pictures on a one week vacation. Before, people would debate if the shot was worth it and then wait and take one shot of the sunset.
Now, you take 40 in the justification that you’ll sort out and keep the best one.

No, but you come close with this post with the “Terabytes & Pixels” crap.
