Obivously, he/she isn't financially astute enough to know that used Audi A6's from that model year = big money pit π

Navadoc. Absolutely +++ on getting a odb tool if you drive european. I personally recommend VAG-COM from ross-tech for all that drives VAG products (Volkwagan/audi/seat/skoda) that plan on keeping your car(s) longer than the warranty.

In addition to doing things that diagnosing fault codes and reseting check engine lights, you can program things on certain cars such as your central locks, and measure boost levels on turbocharged cars (if you suspect you have a leak).
