I agree it looks fishy. It seems pretty clear that the trustee sale buyer had access to the house prior to the sale. They probably weren’t counting on competition bidding it up by $100k at the steps.
As far as the recording of deeds… From Adam has posted – not all trustee sale buyers bother to record the title. (Adam does.)
I’d be curious as to his or sdr’s professional opinion on what happened here.
