Participant
I’m sure SDR will agree. PQ is a much better option over MM.
I’m seeing the same thing in my areas of interest: Mission Hills, OB, Pt Loma etc. I think this year I might finally find something!
I am curious – why do you think PQ is a MUCH better option over MM?

Probably because there are less Asians in PQ than MM

ParticipantHi Scarlett,
I am also interested in North-West Mira Mesa. Currently I have no kid but planning to have one soon. Good schools are also important to me. MM elementary schools have API ranging from 870 to 920 and HS at 823 which is not too bad. I am working on Coronado island so Mira Mesa is a little bit closer.
One thing that concerns me is the property crime in MM. I have heard of a few break-ins in the last two years. One of my friend felt sick at work and when she came home early she found two men moving her stuffs out to a truck. The two men saw her and drove away with her stuffs in their truck. my friend is really nervous and thinking about moving.
At your budget you will find a little nicer/newer/larger homes in Mira Mesa than in PQ, from what I can see (I am also looking in both MM and PQ). Mira Mesa schools have become very good, many of them better actually than University City ones. The API scores are now close enough to the PQ ones.
North-West Mira Mesa around Calle Cristobal is especially nice area. It all depends what you want. Where do you have to commute to work? Do you have school-age kids?
