i do see myself as sort of a cultural treasure, but I am a goofball and don’t take myself very seriously. My kids call me “dude”. I control almost nothing. And yeah, I am amusing in person. I sort of see it as part of my job description to make others like me so that I might persuade them, or at least momentarily distract jurors from a bad fact. But still, it’s nice of you to say.
I’m also stunned that interest rates didn’t plummet immediately after I locked one in, but instead, rose steeply. Theoretically it’s possible that i may have hit a recent bottom in that regard, and, well, probably some day, maybe pretty seoon, we’ll look back and say 4.x%!!!???? weird!

November 19, 2010 at 12:16 AM #632070CA renterParticipant
Yes, congratulations scaredy! We signed off on ours as well, so at least we’ll be going down together. It would have been nice to take CA renter with us.
π
Still looking, and finding some properties that are getting tempting. Have seen some price drops that bring a couple in line with what we were thinking when they first came on the market.
It really is great to see some of the long-time bears (sdcellar, scaredy, and another who might not have gone public, yet) finally find homes that they are happy with. I know it’s not been easy to wait this out. Until we find our own home, we’ll live vicariously through you guys! π
Congratulations!

November 19, 2010 at 7:07 AM #632084scaredyclassicParticipantI didn’t agonize like this about marriage or kids. I do hate that I’m a monthly payment shopper. But the reality is that’s kinda how it works.
