The guess I made myself before opening and reading the initial post was $105k. I’m in the San Diego area.
So no, it doesn’t sound too outrageous to me, although you might use the term “overall compensation package” as opposed to pure salary.
Who knows though, it seems like there’s a “perceived value” phenomenon – the more you have the gall to ask for, the more qualified folks assume you to be. Weird.

June 18, 2010 at 3:14 PM #566958CoronitaParticipantImho it’s low for Orange country.
Let’s just say equivalent here in san diego two years ago was about $125, excluding a 20%-25% bonus annual that was almost yearly guarenteed. That’s how much someone I was managing was getting comped. Then again, I think it’s the economy.
It depends on how many years and experience. The person has about 10yrs.
Now, if this is a defense company, it will be about 10-15% lower, and probably a marginal bonus…Let’s just say that when I was a smaller architect role, my comps were more than some directors were at a defense company. Defense pay stinks, even at the C level.
People still use spring/hibernate/ejb3/jboss?
