Why is obtaining an “REO” the “be-all” and “end-all” for you . . . or is it? Do you honestly believe REOs are a “good deal” in comparison to a “traditional sale” that has to compete with them in the marketplace?[/quote]Me, I like REO and short sales.
After the biggest bubble in modern history, I have a strong aversion to paying inflated prices and bail out a seller.
I also have a strong aversion to REOs and short sales that aren’t listed nicely below the general market.
I just want to snag a deal and not let any seller get the satisfaction of “not giving it away”. That thus gives me the satisfaction of having “stolen it”. π
The art of the deal, as Donald Trump would put it.

That is, if you’re the “successful bidder” on an “REO.” Whether or not you got an “under-market” deal is purely subjective.
