BG, maybe Hillary was publicly humiliated. She survived it so don’t you think that makes her a person of very stong character? Do you want spouses do divorce at every hint of social humiliation? Some religions don’t allow divorces.
I was looking at a recipe that called for mirepoix. The Duke of Mirepoix was a nobleman of high rank but little talent. But the Duke’s wife was a favorite of the French king who bestowed favors onto the Duke. Everyone at court knew.
I think her staying makes her more a character to want to stay possibly for Chelsea and it was politically beneficial for her to stay since Bill was the President…
I don’t think it has anything to do with her strong character.
IF anything, leaving and being successful without Bill would make her tons stronger on her own I’d think.
This election as shown from what Hillary’s game plan is as well as Trump is don’t vote for the other guy.
It’s all about who I hate less in the white house and not anyone really liking either candidate.
The winner will be who is hated least by the electorate in maybe 5 states.

That is not, nor has it ever been Hillary’s game plan. She has extraordinarily detailed writings on almost every policy. You may not agree with them all (I certainly don’t), but they are available.
The negative is what much of the press focuses on, it’s not necessarily what the candidates focus on. Trump has nothing but hate and lies about Hillary. So that’s what he sells. And it’s the only thing his supporters are buying.
August 24, 2016 at 9:30 AM #800845AnonymousGuestTrump calls his opponent ‘Crooked Hillary’ every time he mentions her. It’s childish and pathetic.
Not many candidates stay on the high road throughout their campaign – everyone these days uses negative ads, etc. But Trump isn’t even aware that there is a high road.
August 24, 2016 at 10:58 AM #800847FlyerInHiGuestI think Hillary’s original game plan was to run against Jeb.

I disagree with this. Like she supported TPP, then Bernie came and now she doesn’t support it. From everything I have read/seen, the Clinton’s has historically been free-traders. There is nothing wrong about that, but
Also, in terms of policy, pretty much anything proposed isn’t new or mostly, there are loopholes to actually fail to get them implemented since some won’t balance, would raise taxes, etc etc etc…
Can you name anything of significance Hillary did as Secretary of state? I see that question asked from Hillary supporting media and nothing comes up.
Also, as a NON Trump voter (I won’t vote for him), I just think people should also own up that Hillary is also a terrible candidate and distrusted and hated by many as well.
Another comment I hate about her is, she stated that if she was elected President, she will change/shutdown her foundation to foreign money.
If there was a hint of shadiness there now, why not just shut the damn thing down already? That’s been asked by left leaning media as well. Why wait till she is president?
Overall, both candidates are bad IMO…Hillary is no better IMO than Trump and I’d be glad if both leave the campaign honestly.
You even have strong democrats who have trouble commenting positively when asked about her untrustworthiness (Congress lady, forgot who)…
It’s a game.
August 25, 2016 at 8:12 PM #800882AnonymousGuestCan you name anything of significance any Secretary of State has ever done?
It’s a role with a lot of responsibility, but it’s also not one that is associated with high-profile accomplishments. Now of course you could have taken the time to read the Wikipedia page to see what she did do in the role…
Or you could ask what she accomplished as as a US Senator….
I’m not a huge fan of Clinton, but there’s no denying she has the qualifications to be president. More than many prior presidents in our history, and more than whatever “3rd party” candidate the whiners will pick as a protest vote.
But Trump did have a TV show…
Yeah it is a game, it’s always been a game. It hasn’t been noble since Washington was in office and yet somehow the country has persevered and even thrived all along.
August 25, 2016 at 8:46 PM #800883FlyerInHiGuestI never read breitbart. But it seems like alt-right has taken oven the GOP.

You can disagree all you like, but nothing you said here is the least bit responsive to anything I said.
Clinton’s policy on the TPP has changed. As has her position on a number of other things. If she reverses course after she’s elected, there is little chance she’ll be elected to a 2nd term. (See GHWB’s “read my lips, no new taxes.)
She’s running on her current policies. Some of them are rehashing old ones, but since none of them have been reduced to legislation, complaining that there will be loop holes (whatever that means) requires an overdose of cynicism. Reaganism at work.
I could probably name half a dozen of her accomplishments without spending much time on it, and I’m not even a huge supporter. She wrote the Iran sanctions that made them come to the table. Well before she was sec of state, her “women’s rights” speech in China, as well as being an outspoken advocate for women during her SOS tenure. Helping to negotiate the cease fire in Gaza. She oversaw the largest increase in trade with a foreign country ever, with Chinese trade increasing more than 50% during her tenure as SOS. The creation of the Global Hunger and Food Security initiative. And probably most importantly, rebuilt the severely damaged US reputation among our allies.
The Clinton Foundation is not being shut down when she’s elected because there is anything shady. It’s being shut down because it’s inappropriate for the spouse of the President to be soliciting contributions from foreign governments. Just as it’s inappropriate for the spouse of a SOS to solicit gifts from foreign governments. Which is why there were no foreign gifts solicited while Clinton was SOS. If you have a problem with a charity with the highest ratings from those that rate charitable organizations, and one that has funded more AIDS and malaria treatments over the last 5 years than all others combined, then you’re probably impossible to please.
Anyone who really thinks they’re equally bad is either not paying attention, a racist, or a moron. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and accept that you may be the former.

Well, there was Henry Kissinger ……. Detente, Paris Accord, etc etc.
August 26, 2016 at 6:28 AM #800892AnonymousGuestKissinger’s record was impressive.
Just don’t mention the mounds of corpses in Southeast Asia.

He didn’t even become Nixon’s national security advisor until 1968. Kennedy and Johnson and Nixon had a lot to do with those mounds.
